One Utama Mall

One of Malaysia's largest and most popular shopping centers. Opened in 1995, it boasts over 700 retail outlets, offering a wide range of fashion, electronics, home goods, and dining options. Bandar Utama is an affluent residential township located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, neighboring Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara, Sunway Damansara, Damansara Jaya, and Damansara Utama. Originally a palm oil estate with fewer than 100 residents, Bandar Utama was developed in the early 1990s. The township began to grow rapidly with the opening of Sri Pentas (TV3’s broadcast center) and the iconic 1 Utama Shopping Centre in 1996. Over time, more schools and facilities were established, contributing to the continued growth of the area.

Bandar Utama is home to several shopping centers, including the renowned 1 Utama, which spans 5 million square feet, making it one of the largest malls in the world. With over 700 outlets, 1 Utama features four department stores, two cinema complexes, a bowling alley, an arcade, and an indoor rainforest. Centrepoint Bandar Utama, a smaller commercial complex, is located in the heart of the neighborhood and is a popular spot for office workers and students.  The nearby Mutiara Damansara area provides even more retail choices with Lotuss , Ikano Power Centre, The Curve, and  IKEA.

Educational institutions in Bandar Utama include several primary and secondary schools, such as SJK(C) Puay Chai 2, SK Bandar Utama Damansara 4, and SMK Bandar Utama. First City University College, a private tertiary institution, offers courses in various fields.
