STATIONS
Explore Kuala Lumpur by discovering each of the individual Transit Lines and Stations. The individual stations are accessible by clicking on the individual Transit Lines and from the dropdown menu above. The MRT, LRT and Monorail lines are operated by RapidKL. KTM Komuter lines are operated by KTMB and KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit lines are operated by Express Rail Link. Not considered part of KL's metro rail transit system, the KTM ETS and KTM Intercity lines (not shown on map below) connect KL to the rest of Malaysia and can be accessible from KL Sentral Station. To move around KL, we will focus on the MRT, LRT and Monorail lines.
It will be useful to understand where these lines cover and how these lines interconnect with one another by having an overview of the Greater Kuala Lumpur Metro Train System. Greater KL or its corollary the Klang Valley refers to the general area containing Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding suburbs. The following map is taken from the Klang Valley Integrated Transit Map by the Malaysian Land Public Transport Agency.
Overview of Klang Valley Integrated Transit Map
Navigate the Greater KL metro train system by knowing the MRT,LRT, Monorail, KTM lines and interconnectivity/transfer points

The Klang Valley integrated metro rail system consists of multiple train and monorail lines, designed to complement each other and facilitate ease of travel. Each transport system (LRT, MRT, KTM, Monorail) is represented by a unique color to ensure clarity and ease of navigation. For example, the MRT Putrajaya Line is yellow while the KL Monorail line is in light green. The following are the main components of KL's integrated rail system:
1 2 KTM Komuter (Commuter Train): Primarily serves the suburban areas and connects Kuala Lumpur with neighboring cities and towns in the Klang Valley.
3 4 5 LRT (Light Rail Transit): The LRT system has two main lines, the Kelana Jaya Line and the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line, connecting various neighborhoods and city centers within Kuala Lumpur.
9 12 MRT (Mass Rapid Transit): The MRT is a newer addition to the city's transit network and includes the Kajang Line and Putrajaya Line. It serves many populated areas and well connected to places of interest
8 KL Monorail: Running through the city center, the monorail serves as a key component of the city's inner-city transit, linking significant locations such as Bukit Bintang and KL Sentral.
6 7 KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit: High-speed trains that connect the city to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), offering a fast, convenient option for airport travel. KLIA Transit serves as local shuttle with 3 stops enroute to the airport while KLIA Ekspress is a non- stop service to the airport, enabling airport transfers from the city center in about half an hour.
Line 10 Skypark Line is currently unoperational until further notice and Line 11 LRT Shah Alam is under construction as of 4Q2024.
To access most of the essential areas in Kuala Lumpur, main lines to look at are LRT Lines 3 4 5 , MRT Lines 9 12 and Monorail Line 8.

There are 2 types of transfers between stations:-

Interchange Stations: Transfers between two stations of different lines can be done without leaving the paid area and no tap-out required. This is represented by 2 co-joined circles on the transit map. An example is the TRX interchange station between MRT Kajang Line and MRT Putrajaya Line.
Connecting Stations: Transfers between two stations of different lines can be done by leaving the paid area and tap-out is required. This is represented by grey lines on the transit map. An example is the Ampang Park connecting station transfer between MRT Putrajaya Line and LRT Kelana Jaya Line. Please note that new charges will be applicable for the onward journey at the 2nd connecting station.

An example is the Ampang Park LRT Kelana Jaya Line Station being colored in ruby and numbered 9. For those new to the system or have issues remembering the name, would be a good idea just to refer to this station as 'Ruby Line Station 9'

Colored Transit Lines and Numbered Stations: Each of the transit lines are color coded and each of the stations have unique numbers. For first-timers new to the system, most likely you will be unfamiliar with the station names and it will be a good idea just to refer the transit line color and station number.
