Gombak LRT Station serves as the northern terminus of the RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line. Officially designated as KJ1, it was previously known as Terminal PUTRA when the Kelana Jaya was known as the PUTRA line before rebranding/takeover exercise. For commuters driving to the station, the Park & Ride facility offers 1,260 parking bays, including spaces for motorcycles and designated bays for women and disabled drivers. Gombak LRT Station serves as a departure point for buses operated by Resorts World Berhad to Genting Highlands. Although a fair bit of distance but still walkable from Gombak LRT is the KL East Mall which offers a wide array of F&B options, shopping and fun activities, not least the indoor rock climbing area.
Accessible by ride hailing a short distance away from Gombak LRT, Taman Melawati is an affluent township often referred to as the "Hollywood" of Malaysia due to its popularity among local celebrities and politicians. The township is renowned for its luxurious residential properties, including freehold bungalows, semi-detached houses, and condominiums. Nature enthusiasts can enjoy nearby attractions like Bukit Tabur for hiking, Woodland Park for leisurely strolls, and the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, one of the world's longest quartz ridges .
