LRT 3 Line Route and Stations
Once completed, the LRT3 Line will be an integral part of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System, serving densely populated areas such as Bandar Utama, Shah Alam, and Klang. The line is designed to accommodate up to 18,630 passengers per hour in each direction. It is projected to benefit approximately two million residents along its route, particularly those commuting between Petaling Jaya and Klang, by helping to ease traffic congestion and stimulating economic development around its stations.
The inclusion of five previously cancelled LRT3 stations—located at Tropicana, Raja Muda, Temasya, Bukit Raja, and Bandar Botanik is now designated as provisional stations—is projected to add an extra RM5.3 billion to the overall cost of the project. These stations are now expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2028. Currently, Prasarana Malaysia is finalizing the technical and financial details for the additional contract. The design phase for these five stations is expected to begin in Q1 2025, with construction slated to start in Q4 2025. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by Q4 2027, with full operations set to begin sometime in Q2 2028.
