Prasarana has indicated that an update on the LRT3 Shah Alam Line is expected to be announced in January 2026. This comes after a December 10 2025 statement confirming that the rail line would not begin operationsin 2025, as system stability and software issues were still identified during the testing and commissioning (T&C) stage.

According to a report by Bernama, evaluation activities are still ongoing, with the project currently undergoing fault-free running (FFR) tests for each train. The Shah Alam Line has 22 trains in total, and each one must complete the required FFR distance under monitoring by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD). While three trains have already met the distance requirement, they will need to undergo re-evaluation as APAD is reassessing the criteria being applied.

The rail line was originally scheduled to begin service on September 30 2025, but an initial delay was announced in August. In November, the government maintained that it was targeting a December 31 2025 launch, before later confirming in December that operations would not start by year-end.

At the time, Prasarana stated that an official launch date would only be set once the entire testing and commissioning process is fully completed. Certain reports have suggested that the project may now be delayed until the second quarter of 2026. However, this has yet to be confirmed.
