LRT3 line is set to commence operations by the end of June 2026, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who said the official opening date will be revealed within the next two weeks. Speaking after the 62nd Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Road Safety Council (MKJR), Loke stated that trial operations have gone well and the rail system is ready to serve passengers.
He noted that the LRT3 is expected to begin operating before month-end, with all testing indicating that the line is ready for public use. Known as the Shah Alam Line, the project was initially scheduled to open last year but faced delays due to software-related challenges and system stability concerns identified during the testing and commissioning phase.
The 37.8-kilometre rail line links Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya/Damansara to Johan Setia in Klang. Running through the western Klang Valley, it will provide improved public transport connectivity to key population and growth centres such as Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.
