LRT3 Opens 29 June 2026.

LRT3 Shah Alam rail line is scheduled to begin its operations on 29 June 2026. Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook confirmed that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is expected to perform the official inauguration ceremony on the preceding day. He announced this long awaited news during the launch of a new Road Transport Department (JPJ) branch at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan on 22 June.

Extending 37.8km, the railway links Bandar Utama to Johan Setia in Klang. It features 20 operational stations situated throughout Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang. These include key stops such as Glenmarie 2, Stadium Shah Alam, UiTM Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Klang, Pasar Klang, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, and the terminal at Johan Setia.

The rail line is projected to improve transit connectivity across the western corridor of the Klang Valley. By serving major population centers like Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang, it aims to alleviate traffic congestion in one of the country’s most heavily populated urban regions.

Construction for this project commenced in 2016 and underwent several modifications over the years, including cost-rationalization measures mandated by the government. The line is now set to become Prasarana Malaysia Berhad's latest rail service within the Klang Valley area.

The LRT3 route will accommodate thousands of commuters daily while offering vital connections to existing networks, including the Kelana Jaya Line and Kajang Line. This integration aims to strengthen the overall public transport network across the entire Klang Valley region.
